How phone repair training transformed Yusuf from unemployed youth to business owner employing two people.
Before the iDanraka Care Foundation's phone repair training program, Yusuf had no income and few prospects for employment. Today, he runs his own successful phone repair business in Zaria and employs two other young people from his community.
"The phone repair training changed my life completely," Yusuf shares. "Before the iDanraka programme, I had no income. Now I run my own small repair business — I employ two people. I owe everything to this foundation."
Yusuf is one of 100 youths who received certification through the Foundation's ZYA Phone Repair Project. Many graduates have since established their own businesses, creating employment for others in their communities.
The Foundation continues to monitor and support its graduates, providing business mentorship and connecting successful entrepreneurs with new trainees who can learn from their experience.
"Seeing Yusuf's transformation is what drives our work," says a Foundation representative. "Every young person we train has the potential to become an employer, not just an employee."
